Born and raised in Lecco, Italy, Andrea Domenici is a jazz pianist and composer currently based in New York City. At the beginning of his career, Andrea won the first edition of the “Premio Gianni Basso” Competition as Best Soloist, as well as First Prize of the La Spezia Jazz Competition. Andrea has shared the stage with such jazz legends as Harry Allen, Wynton Marsalis, Gary Bartz, Louis Hayes, Kenny Washington, and James Carter, amongst others. He has performed in the most prestigious venues of New York City, including Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Smalls, Mezzrow, Smoke Jazz Club, Zinc Bar, and the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, as well as venues across the world, from Mexico to Italy. Andrea recently completed a residency at the prestigious Marrians Jazzroom in Bern with The David Adewumi Quartet, and released his album Playing Who I Am, which features Peter Washington on bass and Billy Drummond on drums.
