A Korean-American violinist, Gaga Won brings a beautiful, rich and warm tone with a full complex sound. She has been praised for her fearless playing, which unleashes the expressive qualities of music.
Gaga holds a Bachelor of Music degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Wei He, receiving the Sergei Barsukov Scholarship for violin in 2015. For her Master’s degree, she studied with Hyo Kang at Yale School of Music, where she also served as a Teaching Artist. She participated in master classes with Bill Vander Sloot, Time for Three, Paul Kantor, Catalyst Quartet, and Annie Chalex Boyle. Gaga also loves to play in Art Exhibitions: She performed at the Third Annual High School Visual Art Touring Exhibition and Harry Ahn’s Painting Exhibition.
As an active soloist and a chamber musician, Gaga gave a variety of performances internationally. She has given performances in South Korea, Italy, China, and Japan. In Italy, she performed at the Castle in Courmayeur; following year, she performed with her previous teacher, Wei He at Li Shui Theater in China; recently she served as Concertmaster of the Pacific Music Festival orchestra in Japan. Furthermore, she played violin at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino for Apple keynote presentation. Ms. Won currently teaches both piano and violin privately and freelancing. She teaches a wide range of players: Beginner to professional level.
