Our upcoming music appreciation class will explore musical cryptograms from composers that add meta-musical meaning to their works.

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming music appreciation class, Signs, Games, and Messages: Exploring Hidden Meanings in Music. After the success of his first class in December, pianist and educator Daniel Anastasio returns for an exploration of enigmatic musical messages.

The class will explore musical cryptograms, personal musical messages, and other secrets from composers that add meta-musical meaning to their works. Listeners will explore musical messages in Bach, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Liszt, Shostakovich, Schoenberg, Kurtag, George Crumb, and others.

The class is planned for Wednesday, June 9th at 7:30 PM Eastern Time, and will be hosted online on Zoom.
